March for Mother Cabrini Scheduled for October 6

March to honor the contributions which Mother Cabrini made to help build New York City

Sunday, October 6, 2019

Procession begins at 3 pm at Mother Cabrini Park, (41 President St., Brooklyn, NY 11231)

Mass at 4 pm at Sacred Hearts – St. Stephen Church, (125 Summit Street, Brooklyn, NY 11231)

The City of New York recently held a competition with the goal of recognizing notable New York women who contributed to the development of the city. Although St. Frances X. Cabrinireceived the most votes in the competition, she was denied the recognition of a public statue in her honor. Many in our parishes are upset by the city’s dismissal of the great contributions of St. Frances X. Cabrini. In order to publiclyhonor and acknowledge this great woman of faith and social service who ministered in our own diocese, Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio will lead a procession in honor of St. Frances X. Cabrini through the streets she walked on in Brooklyn and celebrate Mass for the intention of all immigrants.
