Making No Apologies

Mayor Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani owes Italian Americans —and all Americans — an apology.

He wants to stop public celebrations of Christopher Columbus. He wants to remove memorials and statues dedicated to the singular achievement of the world’s greatest explorer. And with his pointed middle finger prominently on display, he wants to humiliate and marginalize Italian Americans.

We are demanding an apology! Zohran Mamdani has never retracted his horrific words and his profane act.

The Columbus Statue has long stood as a symbol of pride and cultural identity for generations of Italian Americans who helped build New York City and continue to enrich its diverse fabric. Mamdani’s statements and actions are divisive and show contempt for the values of respect and inclusion that define our city and the Italian American community.

New Yorkers deserve a leader who will respect every community’s history and traditions, a leader who is committed to representing all people with fairness, respect and dignity.

Zohran Mamdani must apologize and clearly state his position on Columbus Day and the preservation of historical monuments now!
