On this 250th anniversary of our great nation, we give thanks to the brave and discerning men and women who, endowed by the Creator, embraced certain unalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness in search of an enlightened, more perfect Union.
And as we honor our Founders, let us also remember another whose courage, spirit of exploration and yearning for an enlightened, more perfect world, is chiseled in the granite pedestal of New York City’s Christopher Columbus Memorial with these six words:
“To the world he gave a world.”
At this important moment, let us acknowledge all those who came before us—those men and women who, in their own time, believed their actions were in the best interests of our country and the world. Their efforts, successes and even their shortcomings provided the foundation upon which each generation has continued to build.
Let us be united, then, in our commitment to strengthen our nation through truth, integrity and a shared dedication to the principles that have made America great. May we continue the work of creating a more just, prosperous and compassionate country for generations to come.
As Italian Americans, our heritage has always been rooted in the enduring values of faith, family and country. Let us honor that legacy by leading through service, unity and a renewed commitment to working alongside our fellow Americans to build an even stronger nation.
Happy 250th Anniversary to our great nation and to all who have contributed to its enduring story.
May God always Bless the United States of America.
